The Concept

Centuries-old works.
An entirely different canvas.

The art world has spent centuries deciding how these works should be displayed. We respectfully disagree.

The Entombment of Christ

Caravaggio

Christ's lifeless body is lowered toward the tomb as those around him collapse into grief. Caravaggio brings the sacred scene brutally close, using darkness, dramatic light and intensely human expressions rather than idealised beauty. Painted around 1602–04, it became one of Caravaggio's most influential religious works, with its figures seeming to emerge physically from the darkness and pull the viewer into the moment.

The Object

Art, built differently.

The artwork is only half the object.

Each piece is produced across three maple skateboard decks, combining the geometry and material language of skateboarding with gallery-scale imagery.

Why These Works?

They weren't painted for us.

These works were created for churches, palaces, wealthy patrons and institutions. They explored gods, violence, death, beauty, faith and everything uncomfortable in between.

Centuries later, they haven't lost their power. But somewhere along the way, masterpieces became things we're expected to admire quietly — behind ropes, inside galleries, or reproduced politely in books.

We wanted them out.

The First Collection brings together five works we couldn't stop looking at and rebuilds them across maple skateboard decks — a canvas with its own history, culture and attitude.

Not to improve the originals.

Just to give them somewhere new to live.
